I'm sure it'll be usefule for me! Thanks
can i ask what brush/marker/pen you used in the preview image?
As for the strokes, it was a while back. I was using Painter X (not XI). So, the settings are no longer the same for the artpen.
But you can get the same sort of effect by doing any one of the following. First open a document so that it has a dark background. Then either:
1. On a separate layer with transparency and underlying colour turned off, use the reed pens (found under the Pens).
2. On that same separate layer, use the art marker (found under felt pens). Put the Opacity at 63%, Grain at 21%, Resat at 71%, Bleed at about 7% and no jitter.
You can also get a similar sort of paint pen with the round pen (but with no dark centre) with lower opacity and higher grain.
Try'em out and let me know how it works out for you.
