Artist's Comments

Had a bit of fun with this one -- about a month of tinkering. :painter:

The reference: [link] from the lovely faestock :iconfaestock:

Anyway, I also used a picture from a John Waterhouse book as the basis for the piece -- can you name the Pre-Raphaelite artist and the work referenced? ;-)

Tools: Artrage, Photoshop

I love the color palette on this one.
Sadly, I am not that good with Art history - I guessed the style to be Raphaelite, but that is about it. :P

Looks like the Lady of Shallot to me, but I think you gave away the artist. =P

You always have such a wonderful style of painting, it's so evocative of classical works of art.
:iconbolsterstone:
Ironically, it's wasn't a Waterhouse reference (that would've been too easy) -- but then again, I've always thought that the PreRaphs always produced works that looked nearly indistinguishable from each other. Thanks again, Sindae. ;-)

Yeah, I didn't want to say that, but I agree with you. I think their works are nice, but they are not just stylistically similar, but in subject matter too.

Still, I think they certainly paint attractively, and this has a similar feel.

Geez, I thought this was a painting on canvas.

Nice job!

Well, it's a good enough guess.

I'll leave it open until an art history expert gets it. :-)
