Ni Chang, the assassin, played by Bingbing Li in the upcoming film, Forbidden Kingdom (copyright Casey Silver Productions).
This film hasn't even come out yet and it has already got me hooked. (Heck, I haven't been to the movie theatres in ages -- the curse of teaching -- but I will probably plunk down the $10 plus dollars to go and see it.) I'm going to probably be posting some more in the next couple of days. (It'll be fun to s see if I can pull of an image of Jet Li or Jackie Chan -- as a change of pace!)
Media: pencil, oil pastel (for the original work); followed up with Artrage (oil, chalk) and Photoshop (for the clean-up)
Junior high school stuff at the moment -- along with math and science (and whatever else is needed by the school's admin.).
The funny thing is that I've had art creeping into the other subjects I teach. For example, in my math class, I've found myself using figure building, construction lines and shapes (in 2D geometry and fractions); Durer's 'graticola' or grid and Renaissance-style 'camera obscura' (in ratio/proportion); and origami and sculpture (to aid in teaching surface area and volume). I guess it's whatever takes to make the subject matter more appealing for the students (and me ).

There are a lot of themes that run through the stock gallery many people have similar ideas but they pull them off in different ways. In this series of newsletters we will look at similar ideas but different outcomes.
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. From participating in devmeets, to providing positive encouragement to other artists, `Rushy can always be found demonstrating what it really takes to be a true deviant. It's without any hesitation that we are delighted to award the Deviousness Award for July 2009 to `RushyRead More

Live each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influences of each.

The enemy isn't men, or women, or the old, or even the dead.
It's just bloody stupid people.
Who come in all shapes and sizes.
